Maori Tours Kaikoura offers a cultural experience at a level that has not been seen before. Guests are offered the chance to learn, participate and have fun when they journey deep into the natural, cultural and social world of Kaikoura sub-tribe Ngati Kuri.

About the tour
This is a half day, boutique tour catering to a maximum of 10 guests at a time, ensuring an intimate and personal experience. Most of the journey is spent outdoors so guests need to dress accordingly and wear comfortable walking shoes. During this time visitors will:

- Hear tales of bygone days as handed down through many generations
- Visit ancient sites, hear how they were settled by our ancestors  and see the stories that the land still tells today
- Participate in customs, learn Maori protocol and key values
- Explore one of Kaikouras bush walkways to learn some of the traditional indigenous uses of the trees and plants

Visitors will leave with an understanding of Maori, their ways and links to the environment - and gain deep insight and an appreciation of what it is to be Maori today. Refreshments are served midway through the tour and a small memento is given at the end to remind our visitors of their experience.
