Millar Road - Hastings
Description :
Millar Road offers seriously stylish accommodation in the heart of Hawkes Bay on the east coast of New Zealands North Island. Tucked away in the Tuki Tuki Hills, overlooking their own vineyard and the Hawke’s Bay coastline from Cape Kidnappers to Mahia, Millar Road is the perfect base for your Wine Country excursions. Things have been done a bit differently at Millar Road and the result is a superior relaxing getaway achieved in a stylish, contemporary and very New Zealand way.
About The Property:
Hawkes Bay is the countrys oldest winemaking region and is New Zealands leading producer of award winning red wines. Hawkes Bay is also home to a world-class concentration of Art Deco architecture, fresh local produce and artisan food producers complemented by a vibrant arts scene and a rich Maori culture.
Millar Road is a true New Zealand experience. The cottages were designed by Nick Bevin of award-winning architects bevin+slessor in a style that Nick describes as reminiscent of New Zealand river and lakeside baches of the 1950s and 60s with their relaxed interior layouts and clear, uncomplicated and familiar architecture. Although the buildings may have a traditional look, the interiors and facilities are decidedly contemporary. Furniture, furnishings and art are all from contemporary New Zealand practitioners.
Millar Road comprises of two cottages, each with two double bedrooms, and can accommodate up to four couples in total. The cottages are completely self-contained, including fully- equipped kitchens and gas barbeques. Facilities include Sky tv, DVD players, CD players, broadband Internet connection, laundry facilities and a 4x15 metre swimming pool with automatic cover. Guests are welcome to roam around the entire 20 hectare vineyard property. MRd2 (the upper cottage) is wheelchair friendly.
While predominantly self-catering accommodation, Millar Road can easily organise catering if required – anything from a drop off meal to a fully catered meal prepared and served in house.
