Built in 2003, The Mussel Bed offers privacy and comfort - nestled amidst native bush, gardens and streams with only a short walk to Cooks Beach. Cooks Beach is a beautiful crescent-shaped white sandy beach, stretching approximately 3 kilometres - a safe swimming beach for all ages.

About The Property:
The guest wing has 3 luxuriously appointed suites, each with their own ensuite and private deck. Choose from 2 spacious double rooms with queen size beds - the Victorian or the Pacifica Suite - or the Beach Hut Suite accommodates 2-4 people, with twin beds on the loft floor and queen size bed below. Guests can enjoy a delicious continental breakfast served alfresco on their deck or in the privacy of their room. Light the brazier at night and enjoy the company of other travelers. Let us know if you enjoy the taste of mussels and well give you a small platter of delicious Coromandel Mussels with our own special sauce, complimentary!

Property Location:
Our property is situated in a rural coastal area on 1 acre of native bush, gardens, streams and lawns. Our road can be busy especially over the peak summer season but is a no exit road and is only used as a commuting road to the passenger ferry at Ferry Landing. Lonely Bay is a beautiful little sheltered cove that can only be accessed on foot and is an easy 20 min walk from our B&B. With Whitianga, Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove nearby, The Mussel Bed is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Coromandel. Cooks Beach is approx. 2-3 hours drive from Auckland Airport, Hamilton or Tauranga. We recommend our guests stay for at least 2 days to take in all what we have to offer!
