Kamahi Cottage is a self-contained farmstay cottage in an idyllic, peaceful, private garden setting an easy 15 minute drive from Otorohanga.

Located on a second generation sheep and beef farm it offers a special and hospitable experience with stunning panoramic views over lush farmland and extinct volcanoes.

Tastefully designed and decorated, the charming handcrafted cottage is ideal for a "get away from it all" experience. Relax on the verandah in hammock chairs, take an invigorating walk over the farm or let us arrange a farm tour in the comfort of our own 4 Wheel Drive vehicle.

About the property:
Otorohanga is internationally famous as the official "Kiwi Town" of New Zealand. It is also the closest town to the famous Waitomo Caves.

Kamahi Cottage is ideally suited for a relaxing and peaceful experience, however it is only an easy 30 minute commute to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and associated adventure experience (eg Black Water Rafting). Farm tours of our 1100 acre sheep & beef farm are provided on requests for a small extra charge.

Your stay includes a gourmet breakfast, which can be served in our home, just a short walk away, or brought to you in the cottage, if you prefer.

Delicious home-cooked meals, with an emphasis on fresh produce and creative choices to suit all tastes, are also offered by prior arrangement. If you prefer total independence, the cottage kitchenette is fully equipped for self-catering.

Location:
Otorohanga is 3 hours from Auckaland and Rotorua is 90 minutes east. The township is central to Taranaki, the Central Plateau, Bay of Plenty and the Waikato. It is linked to historic Kawhia, 55 minutes away via State Highway 31, which runs through the rich farmland between Otorohanga and the West Coast.

Kamahi Cottage is situated on the edge of a large landscaped country garden with stunning uninterrupted views over farmland and extinct volcanoes. Very peaceful and completely private.
