Brickendon Historic Farm and Gardens has been owned and farmed by the same family for over 170 years and offers a rare opportunity to experience early colonial Tasmania.

You'll thoroughly enjoy a stay in the quaint cottages, a visit to the Historic Farming Village or wandering in the glorious gardens.

The historic township of Longford is just two minutes away and offers delightful craft and gifts, antiques and traditional country stores.

Established as an innovative working farm, the beauty of Tasmania's colonial farming history is now revealed in the delightful and enchanting Farming Village.

The Farming Village was developed by convicts assigned to work at Brickendon during the 1830s and 40s and is an original farm complex comprising of 12 buildings including a beautiful gothic Chapel.

The Heritage gardens that surround the Main House were laid out during the 1830s with trees from around the world and now also feature more than 200 varieties of old roses.

The property is 450 hectares of rich farming country and still retains 30 kilometres of hawthorn hedgerows planted as fences during the 1820s.

A 3 kilometre river frontage give guests the opportunity to fly fish in one of Tasmanias premier rivers.
